Jerry Stiller ’50 and Anne Meara receive “Made in NY” Mayor's Award for Lifetime Achievement

Legendary husband-and-wife comedy team Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara were honored by New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg on June 4, 2012, with the “Made in NY” Mayor’s Award for Lifetime Achievement. The award is given annually to individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to various fields in the city’s entertainment and digital media industries.
As Stiller & Meara, the couple gained nationwide fame as a comedy team on the Ed Sullivan Show, appearing 36 times. They have performed together nationally in nightclubs and regional theatres and have made countless appearances on television, and are one of only four married couples to be honored with their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Both Stiller and Meara have also had long solo careers, with numerous roles on Broadway, in film, and on television. Currently, they can be seen in their Internet series at stillerandmeara.com, where they tackle a variety of hot topics.
