VP for fashion direction at Bloomingdale's special guest at Lubin House event

    April 12, 2011

Alumni from the College of Visual and Performing Arts School of Art and Design gathered at the Lubin House for a  reception for the Fashion Design program. Alumna Stephanie Solomon, vice president for fashion direction at Bloomingdale's was a special guest.

Associate Professors Jeff Mayer and Karen Bakke mingled with about two dozen alumni who work as designers from companies like J. Crew, Polo Ralph Lauren and Victoria's Secret. They took the opportunity to update alumni on the program and its future, including their new location on the seventh floor in the Warehouse, located downtown in Armory Square.

Solomon took a few minutes to talk about the ways in which she has given back to the University, which has included going back to campus to be a guest lecturer and mentoring current students. Hear what Solomon had to say here.
