    Record number of SU alumni nominated for Tony Awards

    Twelve Syracuse University alumni were nominated for 2012 Tony Awards which included 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role' and 'Best Original Score.'

    Below is a list of alumni winners. Those asterisked won awards themselves as producers; the others produced shows that won awards.


    *Van Dean (Producer of Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, Evita, Bonnie and Clyde, and Gore Vidal’s The Best Man)
    Best Revival of a Musical (Porgy and Bess)
    Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical (Porgy and Bess)

    Jack Feldman (Newsies)
    Best Original Score (lyrics)

    Jane Dubin (Producer of Peter and the Starcatcher)
    Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play
    Best Scenic Design of a Play
    Best Sound Design of a Play
    Best Costume Design of a Play
    Best Lighting Design of a Play

    *Daryl Roth (Producer of One Man, Two Guvnors and Clybourne Park)
    Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for One Man, Two Guvnors

    *Brian and Scott Zeilinger (Producers of Death of a Salesman)
